Barton men’s soccer wraps up regular season with 3-0 shutout road win over King

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Barton men's soccer team (6-1, 6-1) finished the regular season on a high note with a 3-0 shutout win over King (2-4-1, 2-3-1) Sunday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at Parks Field.

Barton sophomore defender Tobias Nielsen (Rask Moelle, DENMARK) led the way with a goal and an assist while junior midfielder Ludovic Rocha (Boulogne-Billancourt, FRANCE) scored the match-winner in the 35th minute as the Bulldogs stayed in the top two of the league standings.

Barton freshman forward Pedro Valladares (Durham, N.C.) added his first collegiate goal at the 52:12 mark early in the second half which gave the visitors a 2-0 cushion before Nielsen rounded out the scoring in the 75th minute.

Barton held an 8-4 advantage in shots taken while sophomore Jacob Randolph (Metairie, La.) notched his second consecutive shutout and third of the season after stopping two shots and earning the win.  King's Dalton Gammon (Valrico, Fla.) also made two saves in goal but suffered the loss.

Barton and King will next compete in the Spring 2021 Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Championship which begins on Sunday, April 18, with Pool Play.  The pairings will be announced by the league early next week.
