WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (5-1, 5-1) knocked Chowan (5-1-1, 5-1-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 1-0 victory Thursday night in a Conference Carolinas showdown at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.

Omar Aboutaleb (Asheboro, N.C.) scored the lone goal of the match – his team-leading fourth of the season – just 7:44 into the contest off a long pass from sophomore forward
Pedro Valladares (Durham, N.C.). Aboutaleb chipped the ball over the goalkeeper for the score while Valladares was credited with the assist.
Chowan held an 11-8 advantage in shots taken despite the loss. In goal, sophomore goalkeeper
Jacob Randolph (Metairie, La.) earned the shutout victory for the Bulldogs to go along with five saves. Randolph has two shutouts on the year while Ross Miller (Kilmarnock, SCOTLAND) took the loss for Chowan despite allowing just one goal in addition to a pair of saves.
Barton next travels to Bristol, Tenn., to take on King (Tenn.) on Sunday, April 11, at 2:30 p.m., in the league regular season final while Chowan faces Erskine on Sunday, April 11, at 12:30 p.m.
