WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College baseball team (9-11) fell to UNC Pembroke (16-5) by an 8-2 score in a non-league, regional contest Tuesday afternoon at Nixon Field.
The Braves broke a one-all tie with a four-run fifth inning capped off by a two-run single from Christian Jayne (Fayetteville, N.C.). UNC Pembroke's River Ryan (Huntersville, N.C.) added three hits and two runs batted in as the Braves defeated the Bulldogs for the third time this season.

Peyton Creech (Zebulon, N.C.) both drove in runs in the losing effort. Despite the setback, the Bulldogs did turn three double plays.
On the mound, UNC Pembroke's Brandon Winstead (Elm City, N.C.) improved to 2-0 on the year after allowing just one run in five innings of work while junior
Zach Bagley (Hope Mills, N.C.) (0-1) was tagged with the loss.
Barton returns to Conference Carolinas play with a doubleheader against Erskine on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., at Fleming Stadium while UNC Pembroke takes on Lander in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader on Saturday in Greenville, S.C., beginning at Noon.
