FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Barton women's soccer team (1-1, 1-1) rallied from a two-score deficit with five straight goals on its way to its first victory of the season, 5-2 over Emmanuel (Ga.) (0-4, 0-2) Sunday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas match at the Stephen Lee Complex.
Five players found the back of the net for the Bulldogs, who outscored the Lions in the second half by a 4-0 margin including the match-winner from junior midfielder

Hailey Russell (Jacksonville, N.C.) opened the scoring in the 31st minute of the match while freshman forward
Lexis Goldberg (Sanford, N.C.) added a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs, who held a 16-6 edge in shots taken.

Kristin Davis (Willow Springs, N.C.) made a pair of stops to earn the win in goal for the visitors while Emmanuel's goalkeeper, Kristin Liquori (Roswell, Ga.), suffered the loss. The Lions' goals came from Rachel Wegesend (Commerce, Ga.) and Hannah Logue (Fairfield, Pa.).
Barton next hosts Belmont Abbey in a Conference Carolinas match on Monday, March 8, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the Electric Supply Company Field at Truist Stadium while Emmanuel hosts King (Tenn.) next Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
