FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Barton men's soccer team (2-0, 2-0) pulled out an overtime victory over Emmanuel (Ga.) (0-2, 0-2), 3-2, thanks to a penalty kick in the extra session Sunday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas match at the Stephen Lee Complex.

Ludovic Rocha (Boulogne Billancourt, FRANCE) notched the penalty kick at the 96:23 mark of the first overtime as the Bulldogs won their second straight one-goal match.
Emmanuel, which out-shot Barton by a 15-7 margin, tied the contest with just over a minute left in the second half and forced overtime courtesy of a goal by Charlie Hill (Harlow, Essex, ENGLAND).
Barton also received goals from senior forward
Ricardo Sanchez (Kenly, N.C.) and sophomore midfielder
Omar Aboutaleb (Albemarle, N.C.) while freshman goalkeeper
Jonathan Joplin (Newton, N.C.) earned the win in goal after coming into the match in relief. Emmanuel's goalkeeper, Giuliano Palma (Napolit, ITALY), made two saves but suffered the loss.
Barton hosts Belmont Abbey in a league match on Monday, March 8, at 4:30 p.m., at Electric Supply Company Field at Truist Stadium while Emmanuel hosts King next Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
