BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Barton women's volleyball team (5-7, 2-5) fell to King (11-7, 6-2) by a 3-0 score in a Conference Carolinas match Saturday afternoon at the Student Center Complex.
The Tornado, winners of two straight matches, prevailed by scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-22.
King was led by Julie Ward (Berthoud, Colo.) with 10 kills, 13 digs and three blocks while Hailee Blakenship (Goode, Va.) neared a double-double – nine kills and 17 digs – as the Tornado limited the Bulldogs to a .089 hitting percentage in the win.

Allison Gambill (Taylorsville, N.C.) finished with a team-high 10 kills in addition to 11 digs and senior setter
Sarah Kirk (Pearland, Texas) notched a double-double as well – 28 assists and 12 digs – despite the setback. Both Gambill and Kirk have six double-doubles on the year.
Barton looks to rebound on Wednesday when the Bulldogs host Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas contest beginning at 7:00 p.m., while King travels to Spartanburg, S.C., to face Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
