TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (5-4-1, 3-3) lost its second consecutive 1-0 match Saturday morning on the road to North Greenville (6-3-3, 5-1-1) in a Conference Carolinas contest at Pepsi Stadium.
The Crusaders' Abby Mayer (Roxboro, N.C.) scored the lone goal of the match off a penalty kick at the 74:36 mark of the second half as North Greenville remained unbeaten (3-0-1) in its last four contests.
North Greenville also held a 17-8 advantage in shots taken while Lizzy Luzzi (King, N.C.) earned the shutout win in goal after stopping three shots.

Rachel Cox (Wilson, N.C.) was the hard-luck loser despite eight saves on the day. The Bulldogs also suffered their first road loss on the year.
Barton returns home and looks to bounce back against Catawba on Wednesday beginning at 4:30 p.m., while North Greenville hosts Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday beginning at 5:00 p.m., in a league contest.
