MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill football team (4-2) rallied from a 13-point deficit to down Barton (3-3), 40-32, Saturday afternoon at Meares Stadium.
Mars Hill quarterback Jimmy Urzua (Suwanee, Ga.) passed for 266 yards and two touchdowns and the squad used a key special teams play early in the fourth quarter as the Lions rallied from a 19-6 deficit for the win.
Mars Hill's Joraye Morrison (Wilkesboro, N.C.) added three short rushing touchdowns – including the game-winner from two yards out with 4:12 left in the third quarter for a 27-25 advantage – as the Lions won their second straight game.
Morrison then scored his third and final touchdown from one yard out following a blocked punt which gave the home team the ball at the Barton one-yard line for a 33-25 lead with just under two minutes into the fourth quarter.

Jordan Terrell (Ramseur, N.C.), the leading rusher in NCAA Division II, finished with 135 yards rushing and two scores including an 82-yard run to paydirt early in the first quarter which gave the Bulldogs a 10-0 advantage. Terrell also crossed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season and now has 1,071 yards on the ground.

Jaquan Lynch (Rocky Mount, N.C.) passed for a career-high 316 yards and two scores including a 74-yard strike to redshirt freshman wideout

Kameron Johnson (Rocky Mount, N.C.) also caught a touchdown pass and finished with 96 yards receiving for the visitors, who totaled 458 yards on offense.

Kendarius Jenkins (Tarboro, N.C.) finished with 11 tackles and returned a blocked extra point for two points while redshirt freshman linebacker
Shane Perry (Holly Springs, N.C.) added eight takedowns for the Bulldogs.
Barton returns home to take on No. 8 Wingate next Saturday, October 16, at Truist Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Mars Hill plays at Limestone on Saturday at 4:00 p.m., in Gaffney, S.C.
