FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.-Sophomore midfielder Grace Fehan scored with just 23 seconds left in the first half to lift Barton College to a 1-0 Conference Carolinas women's soccer victory over host Emmanuel College Saturday.
Senior Carson Moore returned to goal for the Lady Bulldogs and made seven saves as Barton improved to 6-3-1 overall and 3-3 in the conference with the shutout.
All six of the Lady Bulldogs triumphs have been clean sheets with Moore starting in net for five of them.
Barton finished with a convincing 17-10 shot advantage including dominating the first half 10-3. The Royal Blue and White also took eight of the contest's nine corner kicks.
Freshman Lane Brooks took a team-high six shots including four on frame. Brooks never found the back of the net but she did set up the game-winning goal by Fehan with the 45th minute assist.
Brooks leads BC with 14 points while Fehan's tally was her second of the year.
Barton had numerous scoring opportunities including junior Ashley Batchelor taking the game's first two shots that were both saved by freshman goalie Marina Eisenhut and classmate Emily Futral ripping two shots in the 54th minute that sailed wide.
Freshman Jessie Denney came off the Lions bench and took a team-high four shots that were all saved by Moore.
Emmanuel dipped to 3-8 overall and 1-5 in the league.
Barton returns home for a league tilt against Pfeiffer University on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
