Hired in the summer of 2025, Mike Baez is entering his first year as an Assistant Coach for the Barton Men's Basketball Team.

Baez comes to the Wilson, N.C., after serving one year as Associate Head Coach at St. Thomas University (2024-25) in Miami Gardens, Fla., and three seasons as an Assistant Coach at Lynn University (2021-24) in Boca Raton, Fla.

Baez was also the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Saint Andrews in Boca Raton, Fla., in 2020-21.

Baez, who earned his bachelor's degree in 2019 in sports management and MBA in business leadership and management in 2023, both from Lynn, was an All-South Region Second Team, All-Sunshine State Conference First Team and NCAA Division II South Region All-Tournament honoree for the Fighting Knights.

Baez started his career at Wingate University (2015-17) in Wingate, N.C., where he earned All-South Atlantic Conference First-Team honors twice and was an NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Selection.  For his collegiate career, Baez scored over 1,500 points and was on the Bevo Francis Top 100 Watch List.

Baez also played professionally in four different countries - Dominican Republic, Egypt, Spain and Canada - and was the third overall draft pick for Club Bameso.
