Quayon Gilbert, a recent graduate of Barton College, is the team's Co-Defensive Coordinator & Defensive Backs Coach.

Gilbert was a member of the inaugural football recruiting class at Barton and was a four-year captain and starter for the Bulldogs.  As a senior in 2022, Gilbert earned All-South Atlantic Conference Piedmont Division honors as a defensive back.

Gilbert earned his bachelor's degree in 2023 in exercise science and master's degree in 2024 in kinesiology, both from Barton College.  On campus, Gilbert was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and FCA.

In high school, Gilbert played at Thomasville (N.C.) High School before transferring to East Forsyth (N.C.) where he led the squad to a perfect 15-0 record and a state championship.  Gilbert was nominated to the prestigious East-West All-Star Football Game.
