Matt Goggans

Matt Goggans is entering his first season as Quarterbacks Coach and Passing Game Coordinator for Barton College in 2020.

Goggans came to the Wilson, N.C., after spending one season as Wide Receivers Coach at the University of Arkansas Monticello in 2019.  Prior to Monticello, Goggans served as an Offensive Intern for the Wide Receivers at the University of Colorado during the 2018 season.

As quarterbacks coach for Western New Mexico University, Goggans helped developed Javia Hall, who threw for 3,006 yards and 24 touchdowns which ranked him second and third in the Lone Star Conference, respectively.

Goggans also spent two years at Louisburg College (2015-16) as Quarterbacks and Running Backs Coach.   Under Goggans' guidance, Louisburg averaged 513.8 yards per game on offense - 279.9 yards rusing and 233.9 yards passing per contest.   Goggans was also part of the Hurricanes' first undeated season in school history.

Goggans graduated from North Carolina Central University in 2014 with a bachelor of arts in mass communications.  Goggans played quarterback for NCCU before playing under center as a graduate transfer at NCAA Division II Bowie State, where he led the Bulldogs to a return trip to the CIAA Title Game for the first time in over a decade.

Goggans is a native of Pine Grove, California.
