Nick Caregnato

Nick Caregnato is entering his second season with the Barton College Baseball program in 2021-22, serving as an assistant coach where he works primarily with the pitchers. 

Caregnato spent two seasons as a Student Assistant Baseball Coach for North Carolina Central University where he assisted the Eagles in pitching and catching.

In addition, Caregnato was the pitching coach for the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League in the Summer of 2019. Under Caregnato, the pitching staff was first in the in innings pitched (395.0) and second in strikeouts (448) and walks (190) in the league. 

Caregnato played collegiately at North Carolina Central for two years (2017-18) where he received MEAC All-Academic honors in 2018.  Before N.C. Central, Caregnato transferred from Cumberland County College (N.J.) where he played under current Barton mentor, Keith Gorman. 

Caregnato earned his bachelor's degree in Behavior and Social Science and master's degree in Physical Education, both from North Carolina Central.

"Nick (Caregnato) played for me and quickly became one of my favorites because of his work ethic," said Barton Head Coach Keith Gorman.  "It was through strategic hard work that Nick developed into a premier collegiate pitcher.  It's this same work ethic that has followed Nick into his coaching career.  His passion for making players better will be a tremendous asset to our program."
