His collegiate accomplishments include 2014 NCAA Regional All-Tournament honors and a 2015 Johnny Bench Award nomination.  His totals at the plate included a .289 batting average, a .484 slugging average, six home runs and 16 doubles.

After college, Dunbar was drafted in 2015 by the Miami Marlins in the 20th round.  In 2018, he coached in the Prospect League for The West Virginia Miners as a hitting coach and coached with the Dirtbags and Evoshield Canes Travel Organizations.  He is also an Associate Scout for St. Louis Cardinals.

Barton skipper Keith Gorman had this to say about Korey Dunbar: “Korey has tremendous experience as a player in the ACC and also in professional baseball.  He will be able to use his experience to help develop our catchers and hitters. He has great work ethic and is very intelligent. He is a natural teacher and we feel very fortunate to have him here on staff at Barton.”
