Jeff May

Hired in June of 2026, May is entering his first year as Head Baseball Coach at Barton College.

May came to Barton after spending the past 13 seasons as an Assistant Coach at league-foe Belmont Abbey College (2014-26) in Belmont, N.C.   May was promoted to pitching coach in 2018 and worked in all aspects of the Crusaders program over his tenure with the program.

During his career with the Crusaders, the team earned six berths to the NCAA Division II regional tournament including one appearance in the Super Regional Championship and captured the 2025 Conference Carolinas Title.  This past season, Belmont Abbey finished 38-16 overall including a 26-7 mark in league play and qualified for the playoffs.

Prior to Belmont Abbey, May served as a volunteer assistant coach at Lander under Kermit Smith in 2023.  May was a 2014 graduate of Lander University and earned all-conference, all-region and All-American honors as a three-year starting catcher for the Bearcats' baseball squad.  May transferred to Lander after playing two seasons at the University of North Carolina (2009-10).

May also served as an Assistant Coach for the Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League.
