PEMBROKE, N.C. - The Barton women's volleyball team (2-5) fell to Embry-Riddle (5-2), 3-0, Saturday afternoon on the final day of the UNC Pembroke Invitational at the Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
The Eagles won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-19, 25-6 and 25-16.
Embry-Riddle was paced by Fifi Harvey (Marietta, Ga.) with 13 kills while Ashlyn Koerner (Tallahassee, Fla.) tallied a double-double - 37 assists and 10 digs - as the Eagles limited the Bulldogs to a 0.023 hitting percentage in the triumph.
Embry-Riddle also held a 47-18 advantage in kills, hit .385 for the match and tallied 10 service aces in the triumph.
Senior outside hitter
Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) finished with five kills in the losing effort for the Bulldogs.
Barton hits the road to take on Chowan on Wednesday evening in Murfreesboro, N.C., beginning at 6:00 p.m., in a Conference Carolinas match.
Embry-Riddle, meanwhile, takes on Valdosta State in Valdosta, Ga., on Thursday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m.
