WILSON, N.C. - The Barton men's soccer team (1-2, 0-1) suffered a 3-1 loss to Ferrum (1-0-1, 1-0) Saturday afternoon in a lightning delayed contest in the Conference Carolinas opener Saturday at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.
The Panthers rallied from a 1-0 second-half deficit to score the final three goals in the last 30 minutes in a contest which was nearly delayed three hours because of weather.
Ferrum received the game-winning goal from Ben Hooper (Auckland, NEW ZEALAND) and got other scores from Calvin Sanders (Prince George, Va.) and Chase LaSasso (Tampa, Fla.).
Ferrum held a 14-10 advantage in shots taken while Michael Arzillo (Virginia Beach, Va.) earned the victory in goal after stopping five shots.

Sora Watanabe (Kitanagoya, JAPAN) found the back of the net for the lone score for the Bulldogs at the 51:12 mark of the contest. Â Meanwhile, junior goalkeeper
Devin Agostinelli (Apex, N.C.) made seven stops but suffered the loss.
Barton remains at home to take on Catawba on Wednesday evening starting at 6:30 p.m., while Ferrum faces Shaw in Raleigh, N.C., on Wednesday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
