FERRUM, Va. – The Barton softball team (10-10, 3-1) swept a Conference Carolinas doubleheader from Ferrum (7-11, 0-4), 3-1 and 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Vickie Van Kleeck Complex.

Alexis Bicondova (Ephrata, Wash.) hit a two-run double in the fourth inning while freshman
Haley Inman (Stokesdale, N.C.) (4-4) earned the victory after allowing just one run over six innings of work.
Ferrum's Abby Bradberry (Roanoke, Va.) drew a bases-loaded walk in the fifth frame to prevent the shutout while Emily Wood (Huddleston, Va.) (2-2) suffered the loss despite allowing three unearned runs.

Emily Bobo (Mount Ephraim, N.J.) (5-5) struck out 12 batters on her way to the complete game victory while freshman designated player
McKenzie Holloway (Montpelier, Va.) hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to provide the offense for the visitors in the sweep.
Ferrum's Chloe Constantino (Kearneysville, W.Va.) (3-3) allowed two unearned runs in the losing effort while Sophia Peters (Roanoke, Va.) had in RBI single for the Panthers in the sixth frame.
Barton hosts Elizabeth City State in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Jeffries Field beginning at Noon. Ferrum, meanwhile, hosts Chowan in a conference doubleheader on Wednesday, March 11, starting at 1:00 p.m.
