TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (5-8, 3-3) fell to North Greenville (4-2, 3-1) by a 3-1 score Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas game at Hayes Gymnasium.
The Crusaders downed the Bulldogs by scores of 25-17, 25-21, 18-25 and 25-19.
North Greenville's Yoriano Velez Vega (Juncos, PUERTO RICO) led the way with 16 kills in addition to 10 digs for a double-double while Andrew Copp (Denver, Colo.) added 35 assists in the victory.
Barton, which had its three-match winning streak snapped, was paced by a 13-kill, nine-dig and five-block performance by freshman outside hitter

Sammy DeBilzan (Lexington, Ky.) tallied 38 assists and eight digs as well but the visitor hit just .109 for the contest and were hurt by 16 service errors.
Barton returns home to host Newberry on Friday, March 6, at 7:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium.
Meanwhile, North Greenville travels to Newberry, S.C., to take on Newberry on Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m.
