Barton women’s basketball ends regular season with upset road win over Francis Marion, 64-53

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (19-9, 15-5) upset the top team in Conference Carolinas, Francis Marion (19-9, 16-4), 64-53, Wednesday evening at Smith University Center.

Barton senior guard Lauren Mingo (Clinton, Md.) finished with a team-high 15 points and 10 rebounds while sophomore guard MaKayla Noble (Salisbury, N.C.) added a double-double – 12 points and 10 rebounds – as the Bulldogs held the Patriots to season-tying low in points.

Barton held a 48-30 advantage on the boards and avenged an earlier 25-point loss to Francis Marion:  67-42 on Tuesday, January 13, at Wilson Gymnasium.

Francis Marion was paced by Terriana Gray (Columbia, S.C.) with 13 points but shot just 35 percent (18-of-51) from the field.

Barton will be the second seed in the 2026 Conference Carolinas Championship and will next play in the semifinals on Saturday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m., at Jerry Richardson Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C., on the campus of Wofford College.

Francis Marion is the top seed in the conference tournament and will play the game before on Saturday, March 7, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
