WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's indoor track and field teams wrapped up competition at the 2026 Conference Carolinas Championships which concluded Monday at the JDL Fast Track.
The Bulldogs' men's squad finished 11th overall while the women's team took 12th place. Meanwhile, Mount Olive captured both the men's and women's championships.
Barton sophomore
Brandon Waller (Cabot, Ark.) earned all-conference honors in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.30. In addition, sophomore
Zseven Tookes (Wendell, N.C.) took sixth place in the men's triple jump (44'10").
On the women's side, the Bulldogs' 1,600-meter relay – consisting of sophomores
Evet Jones (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and
Angel Agyeman (Greensboro, N.C.), freshman
LaShawn Jones (Hope Mills, N.C.) and senior
Keiarra Tutt (Bayboro, N.C.) – earned all-conference honors thanks to their third-place finish (4:04.08). Tutt finished fifth in the women's 400-meter dash (59.62) while Agyeman took eighth in the women's 60-meter dash (7.84).
Barton track and field now turns its attention to the outdoor season and will next compete in UNC Wilmington's Seahawk Invitational on Saturday, March 7, in Wilmington, N.C.
