DUE WEST, S.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (3-7, 2-2) rallied from a two-set deficit to win a 3-2 thriller over Erskine (3-6, 0-3) Friday evening in a Conference Carolinas contest at Belk Arena.
The Bulldogs won over the Flying Fleet by scores of 18-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20 and 15-13 and picked up their first victory under interim Head Coach

Barton was led by freshman outside hitter
Jacob Martinez (Tucson, Ariz.) with 22 kills while junior outside hitter
Luke Deppe (Mukwonago, Wis.) added 19 kills – both career-highs – as the Bulldogs hit .344 for the match in the victory.
Barton sophomore setter
Sammy DeBilzan (Lexington, Ky.) totaled 45 assists and Deppe added 10 digs for a double-double and the Bulldogs overcame 20 service errors to earn the win.
Erskine's True Bauer (Fort Morgan, Colo.) led the home team with 20 kills and Gino Briglio (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) tallied a double-double – 53 assists and 11 digs – in the losing effort.
Barton hosts Warren Wilson in a non-conference affair on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium. Meanwhile, Erskine hosts league-foe Mount Olive on Saturday afternoon starting at 4:00 p.m.
