WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (11-8, 7-4) couldn't hold a 24-point advantage and fell to UNC Pembroke (8-10, 8-3), 78-75, Wednesday evening in a key Conference Carolinas showdown at Wilson Gymnasium.
UNC Pembroke's Bre'Asia Washington (Lakeland, Fla.) led all scorers with 31 points including 21 after halftime as the Braves rallied from a 37-13 deficit midway through the second period to pick up their fourth straight win.

Lauren Mingo (Clinton, Md.) finished with a team-high 21 points and was one of four players to reach double figures for the home team in the setback.
The Braves scored 49 points after intermission and prevailed thanks to their performance from the charity stripe. UNC Pembroke connected on 24-of-34 free throw attempts (71 percent) in the triumph.
Barton remains at home to take on Ferrum on Friday evening in a league contest beginning at 5:00 p.m.
UNC Pembroke, meanwhile, travels to Tigerville, S.C., to take on conference-foe North Greenville Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m.
