WILSON, N.C. – The Barton softball team (10-10) swept Georgian Court (1-5) in a doubleheader and run-ruled the Lions in both contests by 8-0 scores Saturday afternoon at Jeffries Field.
Game One – Barton 8, Georgian Court 0 (five innings)

Sydney Wade (Farmville, N.C.) highlighted a four-run third inning with a two-run double while junior outfielder
Makenzie Cyzick (Dayton, Va.) drove in two runs as well in the victory.
Barton senior
Kierstin Cooper (Nashville, N.C.) improved to 6-6 on the season after pitching a three-hit shutout – her second of the season – to go along with five strikeouts. The Lions' Janelle Blaszka (Beachwood, N.J.) (1-2) was tagged with the loss.
Game Two – Barton 8, Georgian Court 0 (five innings)
Barton senior third baseman
Mary Lindsey Harris (Robersonville, N.C.) finished with two hits and three runs batted in as the Bulldogs took control with a six-run third inning to complete the sweep.
Wade added another RBI double and freshman
Emily Bobo (Mount Ephraim, N.J.) (1-1) earned the victory after throwing the first shutout of her collegiate career. Georgian Court's Julia Lapp (Riverside, N.J.) (0-3) suffered the loss.
Barton next hosts Elizabeth City State on Sunday at Noon in a doubleheader while Georgian Court travels to Murfreesboro, N.C., to take on Chowan on Sunday in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
