GREENVILLE, S.C. – Barton College's
Shawn Nelson has been named to the 2024-25 All-Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Team Second Team, league officials announced earlier today.
Nelson, a senior forward from Miami, Fla., leads the team in scoring this season at 18.6 points per contest in addition to squad-leading 131 assists and 41 steals. Nelson also averages 5.3 rebounds per game and has been named the league's player of the week four times this year.
Barton (16-13, 11-9) is the sixth seed in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Championship and will face third-seeded Chowan (17-9, 14-6) in the quarterfinals on Friday at 8:30 p.m., at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on the campus of Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.
