WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (14-10, 9-3) pulled out a close five-setter, 3-2 over Erskine (8-13, 4-7), Friday night in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs won over the Flying Fleet by scores of 25-20, 25-21, 20-25, 25-27 and 15-13 and sweep the season series over Erskine.
Barton was led by senior outside hitters
Jake Adams (Clermont, Fla.) and
Jack Sandahl (Gloucester, Va.) with 17 and 16 kills, respectively, as the Bulldogs clinched at least the third seed in the league championship which takes place later in April.

Seth Deppe (Mukwonago, Wis.) dished out a career-high 53 assists in addition to 12 digs for the double-double as the home team won their third straight contest.
Erskine was led by Pablo Zamar (Jujuy, ARGENTINA) finished with a game-high 21 kills and Allen Faison (Orlando, Fla.) totaled 18 kills despite the loss. The Flying Fleet's Gino Briglio (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) also dished out 53 assists but the Flying Fleet were undone by 21 service errors.
Barton hosts Emmanuel on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., in a league match while Erskine faces Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C., on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., as well.
