WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's tennis team (11-6, 3-2), ranked No. 47 in NCAA Division II, shut out King (5-9, 0-3) by a 7-0 Friday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas match at the Michalak Tennis Complex.
Four Bulldogs' players – seniors
Johan Holgersson (Bromma, SWEDEN) and
Hannes Tylehed (Stockholm, SWEDEN), junior
Felipe Mioch (Diemen, NETHERLANDS) and freshman
Daniel Lopez (Palma De Mallorca, SPAIN) – earned victories at singles and doubles action as Barton snapped a two-match losing streak.
Holgersson pushed his winning streak to eight in singles matches with his 7-6, 6-3 victory over Danny Neleman (Thornlie, AUSTRALIA).
Barton hosts Lees-McRae on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., as part of Senior Day in league action while King faces Chowan in Murfreesboro, N.C., on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m., as well.
