Barton men’s volleyball sweeps second straight conference opponent, 3-0 over King

WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College men's volleyball team (7-4, 2-0) swept a second straight Conference Carolinas opponent with a 3-0 victory over King (0-8, 0-2) Saturday afternoon at Wilson Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs won over the Tornado by scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 29-27 and remained unbeaten on the season in league play.

Barton, which outlasted King in the third set, was led by senior outside hitter Jake Adams (Clermont, Fla.) with a match-high 16 kills and senior setter Seth Deppe (Mukwonago, Wis.) added a double-double – 41 assists and 10 digs – as the Bulldogs hit .324 for the match and blocked nine shots in the win.

King's Colton Bueter (North Lauderdale, Fla.) finished with 13 kills and Joao Pedro Ribeiro (Sau Paulo, BRAZIL) added 34 assists and 13 digs but the visitors continue to search for their first win on the season.

Barton is now 6-1 in its last seven matches and hits the road for over a month of competition.

Barton next plays North Greenville on Friday, February 14, at 7:00 p.m., in Tigerville, S.C., in league action while King faces Belmont Abbey on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., in Belmont, N.C.
