BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (11-13, 7-9) rallied from a 21-point deficit to take a one-point advantage late in the contest but ultimately fell to Lees-McRae (7-13, 5-11), 73-68, Wednesday evening in a Conference Carolinas contest at Williams Gymnasium.
The Bobcats' Sandra Mason (Chesapeake, Va.) finished with a team-high 18 points to go along with 11 rebounds as Lees-McRae was able to pull out the victory after surrendering a 21-point lead: 56-35 with 2:35 remaining in the third stanza.

Leah Hampton (Richmond, Va.) finished off a four-point play to give the Bulldogs a 68-67 advantage with 30 seconds left to complete the comeback, but Lees-McRae responded with the final six points for the victory.
The Bobcats' Emily Barr (Charlotte, N.C.) hit the game-winning lay-up with 23 seconds left and Mason finished things off with four points from the charity stripe.
Hampton finished with a game-high 19 points and junior guard
Lauren Mingo (Clinton, Md.) added 18 points but the Bulldogs suffered their third straight setback.
Barton returns home to host Converse in a league contest for Senior Day on Saturday, February 15, at 2:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium while Lees-McRae hosts Chowan on Friday beginning at 5:00 p.m.
