Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Barton men’s basketball rolls to an 82-72 home victory over North Greenville on Saturday afternoon

WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (11-10, 7-6) snapped a two-game losing streak with an 82-72 home win over North Greenville (8-13, 4-9) Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.

Barton senior guard Shawn Nelson (Miami, Fla.) led all scorers with 23 points and senior guard Jordan Johnson (Bowie, Md.) added 12 points off the bench as the Bulldogs scored 49 points after intermission in defeating the Trailblazers for the second time this year.

The Bulldogs beat North Greenville, 72-65, on Monday, January 20, in Tigerville, S.C., in the earlier contest between the two schools.

North Greenville lost despite four players reaching double figures including a team-high 18 points CaDarrius Sowell (Kershaw, S.C.) off the bench.

North Greenville forced a 33-33 all tie thanks to six three-pointers in the first half but shot just 25 percent (three-of-12) from behind the three-point line in the second half as the Bulldogs pulled away.

Barton hits the road to start a three-game stand away from home on Wednesday, February 5, at 7:30 p.m., when the Bulldogs play Francis Marion in Florence, S.C., while North Greenville hosts Belmont Abbey on Wednesday starting at 7:00 p.m.
