RALEIGH, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (4-4) picked up a 56-44 win over Shaw (2-5) Saturday afternoon at C.C. Spalding Gymnasium.

Jahriell Murchison (Fayetteville, N.C.) came off the bench to score a team-high 13 points in just 17 minutes of action as the Bulldogs won for the fourth time in the last five contests.
The Bulldogs held the Bears to a season-low in points and limited the home team to just 26 percent shooting (17-of-65) for the game.
Shaw was led by D'Ayzha Atkinson (Philadelphia, Pa.) was 13 points in the losing effort.
Barton freshman forward
Lauren Farrell (Charlotte, N.C.) added nine points off the bench as well for the visitors, who also finished 88 percent (15-of-17) from the charity stripe.
Barton returns to Conference Carolinas play next Saturday, December 13, when the Bulldogs host Shaw beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Shaw, on the other hand, travels to Elizabeth City, N.C., to take on Elizabeth City State on Tuesday starting at 5:30 p.m.
