WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (1-3) picked up its first victory of the 2025-26 season with a 56-48 triumph over USC Beaufort (2-2) Saturday afternoon at Wilson Gymnasium.

Lauren Mingo (Clinton, Md.) led the home team with 14 points while sophomore guard
Celeste Bailey (Virginia Beach, Va.) added 13 points as the Bulldogs rallied from a 37-25 deficit late in the first half to take the win.
A trey by freshman forward
Lauren Farrell (Charlotte, N.C.) started a run of 21 straight points for the Bulldogs, who outscored the Sand Sharks by a 18-0 margin in the third period.
USC Beaufort's Janiyah Howard (Savannah, Ga.) led the visitors with 16 points but the Sand Sharks shot just 30 percent from the field (17-of-57) from the field including one-of-25 (four percent) in the second half.
Barton also held a 53-45 edge in rebounding and forced USC Beaufort into 20 turnovers in the win.
Barton opens Conference Carolinas play on Tuesday, November 25, when the Bulldogs travel to Pembroke, N.C., to take on UNC Pembroke beginning at 5:00 p.m. USC Beaufort, meanwhile, hosts Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday starting at 1:30 p.m.
