WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (10-8, 6-4) scored 65 points after halftime to run by rival Mount Olive (7-12, 5-6), 103-94, Thursday evening at Wilson Gymnasium in a Conference Carolinas showdown.

Jett Fortuny (Cary, N.C.) finished with a team-high 25 points to go along with seven three-pointers while senior guard
Shawn Nelson (Miami, Fla.) added 20 points, 12 assists, six rebounds, four steals and three blocks as the Bulldogs ran their winning streak to three games.
Mount Olive, which held a 42-38 advantage at halftime, was led by Chase Dawson (Durham, N.C.) with a game-high 27 points while Lureon Walker (Durham, N.C.) added 22 points off the bench but the Trojans hit just three-of-20 shots (15 percent) from behind the three-point line in the setback. The Trojans were averaging over eight treys a contest on the year coming into tonight's affair.
Barton was holding an 82-81 lead with just under six minutes remaining in the contest before an 11-1 run over the next two minutes put the contest away. Nelson ended the run with a pair of free throws and connected on 12-of-16 from the charity stripe in the win.

Jaylen Faber (Columbia, S.C.) finished the game with 19 points in addition to three treys as well.
Barton next faces Southern Wesleyan on Saturday at 4:00 p.m., in a league contest in Central, S.C., while Mount Olive hits the road to take on Shorter in Rome, Ga., on Saturday afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m., as well.
