PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (28-8, 11-8), ranked No. 23 in NCAA Division II, fell to UNC Pembroke (27-9, 11-8) in 10 innings, 6-5, Friday evening in the first game of a Conference Carolinas weekend series at Sammy Cox Field.
The Braves scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning when Ashton Donathan (Sanford, N.C.) hit a sacrifice fly to score Andrew Jenner (Coral Springs, Fla.).
UNC Pembroke, which scratched a run across in the bottom of the ninth to push the game to extra innings, was led by Will Hood (Raleigh, N.C.) with two hits and two runs batted in.

Luis Sauri (Buena, N.J.) hit a bases-clearing double and finished with four runs batted in but the Bulldogs saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.
