WILSON, N.C. – The Barton softball team (9-9) swept a doubleheader from Lock Haven (2-6), 8-0 and 5-1, Monday afternoon at Jeffries Field.
Game One – Barton 8, Lock Haven 0

Miranda Holmes (Godwin, N.C.) improved to 7-3 after throwing a three-hit shutout to go along with nine strikeouts as the Bulldogs run-ruled the Bald Eagles. The shutout was Holmes' fourth on the season.

Kierstin Cooper (Nashville, N.C.) finished with a pair of hits and two runs batted in while sophomore shortstop
MacKenzie Taylor (Mebane, N.C.) ended the game with a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Lock Haven's Madison Waltman (Turbotville, Pa.) fell to 0-2 after taking the loss.
Game Two – Barton 5, Lock Haven 1

Makenzie Cyzick (Dayton, Va.) drove in a pair of runs while Cooper (2-1) earned the complete game victory to go along with six strikeouts to complete the sweep.
For the Bald Eagles, Jada Schellhammer (Tamaqua, Pa.) (0-1) was tagged with the loss and Delaney Good (Mifflinburg, Pa.) drove in the run in the losing effort.
Barton remains at home to host West Liberty in a doubleheader on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m., while Lock Haven travels to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on Holy Family on Tuesday, March 12, in a doubleheader starting at 2:00 p.m.
