WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (14-15) defeated King (10-19) by an 89-77 score on Monday night at Wilson Gymnasium to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Atlantic Casualty Conference Carolinas Championship.
The Bulldogs, the fifth seed in this season's league tournament, will now face fourth-seeded Francis Marion (15-12) on Friday at 11:00 a.m., at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on the campus of Wofford College. The Tornado were the 11th in the tournament.

Jett Fortuny (Cary, N.C.) led all scorers with a season-high 26 points to go along with eight three-pointers as the Bulldog defeated the Tornado for the second time this year, both at home.

Trevon Spencer (Columbia, N.C.) and senior guard
Reese McDonald (Raleigh, N.C.) added 13 points each while McDonald neared a triple-double with 11 assists and nine rebounds as the home team scored 55 points after halftime to hold off the Tornado.
King's Mikhail Pocknett (Wilmington, N.C.) finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort. Barton held a 52-39 edge in rebounding and blocked 10 shots in the victory.
