DUE WEST, S.C. – The Barton softball team (12-12, 3-1) split a Conference Carolinas doubleheader with Erskine (4-18, 1-3) Saturday afternoon at the Flying Fleet complex.  The Bulldogs won the first contest by a 14-2 score before the Flying Fleet prevailed in the nightcap, 6-5.

Game One – Barton 14, Erskine 2
Barton junior designated player Gracelyn Massey (Princeton, N.C.) hit two home runs and drove in seven runs as the Bulldogs won easily over the Flying Fleet.

Massey hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning and added a three-run round-tripper in the seventh frame while sophomore shortstop MacKenzie Taylor (Mebane, N.C.) added three RBI in the win for the Bulldogs.  Barton senior Miranda Holmes (Godwin, N.C.) improved to 9-4 on the season after striking out 12 batters in the complete game victory.

For Erskine, Gabby Burroughs (Greenville, S.C.) hit a two-run home run but Kaley Ingle (Stoneville, N.C.) fell to 2-8 after suffering the loss.

Game Two – Erskine 6, Barton 5
