WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (11-0) remained unblemished on the season with a convincing 20-8 victory over Coker (7-4) Wednesday afternoon at Nixon Field.

Jeremiah Guzman (Jersey City, N.J.) both finished with five runs batted in while Guzman hit a two-run home run as the Bulldogs produced a season-high in runs scored in the win.
Holding a 10-7 advantage entering the bottom of the sixth inning, the Bulldogs broke the contest open with 10 straight runs highlighted by a seven-run seventh frame.
Guzman also scored four runs while nine of the Bulldogs' 20 hits were for extra bases.
For Coker, Jaylen Mack (Lumberton, N.C.) drove in three runs but Noah Emig (Goose Creek, S.C.) suffered the loss. Barton senior
William Leonard (Roxboro, N.C.) (1-0) earned the win in relief.
Barton opens Conference Carolinas play on Friday against Belmont Abbey in Belmont, N.C., beginning at 4:00 p.m. The game is also the road opener for the Bulldogs this season. Coker, meanwhile, hosts Anderson in a South Atlantic Conference contest on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
