WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (7-17, 6-9) came up short on Senior Day to Belmont Abbey (19-6, 13-2) by a 76-60 score Saturday afternoon at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Crusaders, 14-1 in their last 15 games, were led by Abigail Crain (Windermere, Fla.) with 23 points and Catherine Hendershott (Knoxville, Tenn.) with a double-double – 18 points and 12 rebounds – as Belmont Abbey outscored Barton, 27-8, in the decisive third period to take the win.

Nyla Powell (Rocky Mount, N.C.) with a season-high 20 points but was the lone player to score in double figures for the Bulldogs.

Lauren Walker (Charlotte, N.C.) and
Cierra Revelle (Sanford, N.C.) both finished with nine points and three treys but the Bulldogs saw their deficit grow to 25 points midway through the fourth quarter.
Barton looks to bounce back on Wednesday night when the Bulldogs hosts Francis Marion in a conference contest beginning at 5:00 p.m., while Belmont Abbey hosts King on Wednesday starting at 5:00 p.m.
