WILSON, N.C. – The Barton softball team (5-5) ran its winning streak to four games with a pair of extra-inning victories over West Chester – 5-4 in eight innings – and Frostburg State – 6-5 in 12 innings – Saturday at Jeffries Field.
Barton 5, West Chester 4 (eight innings)

Gracelyn Massey (Princeton, N.C.) hit the game-winning sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth – scoring freshman outfielder
Kasey Jones (Mount Olive, N.C.) – as the Bulldogs pulled out the win.
West Chester tied the score at four and forced extra innings with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning. Jones added a two-run home run while senior
Miranda Holmes (Godwin, N.C.) (4-2) earned the complete game victory while striking out 11 batters.
The Golden Rams' Danielle Ciliberto (Ambler, Pa.) (0-1) suffered the loss in relief for the visitors.

Makenzie Cyzick (Dayton, Va.) hit the walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the 12th inning – plating sophomore second baseman
Macie Matney (Fayetteville, N.C.) – as the Bulldogs scored twice in the frame to take the win.

Kandyce Condrey (High Point, N.C.) drove in a pair of runs to lead the Bulldogs. Barton junior
Kierstin Cooper (Nashville, N.C.) (1-0) allowed three unearned runs in six innings of work in relief while striking out four batters to pick up the win.
For Frostburg State, Samara Funk (Cumberland, Md.) hit a solo home run while Katie Chapple (Easton, Md.) (0-1) took the loss.
The round-robin continues on Sunday when the Bulldogs play Frostburg State (9:30 a.m.) and West Chester (2:30 p.m.) at home. The Bobcats and Golden Rams will play each other at Noon.
