WILSON, N.C. – The Barton softball team (6-6) split its two games Sunday at Jeffries Field, defeating Frostburg State (2-2) by a 3-2 score in the final at-bat before falling to West Chester (1-3) by a 13-2 score.

Kasey Jones (Mount Olive, N.C.) hit a walk-off two-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Bulldogs extended their winning streak to five games.
Frostburg State lost despite solo home runs from Arden Miller (Newbury Park, Calif.) and Olivia Stetler (Leesburg, N.J.) while Jamie Roberts (Bryantown, Md.) (1-1) was tagged with the loss. Barton senior
Miranda Holmes (Godwin, N.C.) improved to 5-2 on the season after going the distance and striking out eight batters.
West Chester 13, Barton 2
The Golden Rams' Lauryn Kane (Plymouth Mtng., Pa.) hit a three-run home run in the top of the first inning as part of a six-run opening frame and finished with six runs batted in as West Chester run-ruled Barton and picked up its first victory of the season.
West Chester's Alexa Peterson added two round-trippers while Danielle Ciliberto (Ambler, Pa.) (1-1) earned the win for the visitors. Barton senior catcher

Barton hits the road for the first time this Saturday, February 24, when the Bulldogs travel to Hickory, N.C., to take on Lenoir-Rhyne (1:00 p.m.) and Johnson C. Smith (3:00 p.m.) at the annual Bear Bash.
