FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (6-5, 3-1) picked up an 18-13 road victory over Emmanuel (3-8, 1-3) in Conference Carolinas action at the Stephens Athletic Complex.

Kate Matuza (Hampstead, N.C.) both scored five times as the Bulldogs notched four straight goals early in the third period to take the lead for good after the Lions held a 9-8 advantage right after halftime.
Matuza scored the match-winner at the 11:57 mark of the third stanza while sophomore midfielder
Annabelle Chuilli (Cornelius, N.C.) added three goals for Barton, who held a 38-32 edge in shots taken and improved to 5-0 away from home this year.
For Emmanuel, Lauren Kuschel (Murrieta, Calif.) led all scorers with seven goals in the losing effort. In goal, Barton sophomore
Savannah Graves (Calvert County, Md.) was credited with the win after stopping 11 shots while Emmanuel's Madison Duncan (Springboro, Ohio) made 17 saves but suffered the loss.
Barton returns home to take on Erskine in a league make-up contest Tuesday at 3:00 p.m., while Emmaneul travels to Spartanburg, S.C., to take on Converse Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
