HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Barton women's tennis team (3-6) made it two victories in a row with a 7-0 shutout win over Millersville (Pennsylvania) (0-4) Tuesday on the Bulldogs' annual spring break trip to the Low Country of South Carolina.
Three Bulldogs – sophomore
Tilde Howeler (Stockholm, SWEDEN), freshmen
Irma Granstam (Linkoping, SWEDEN) and
Alexandra Saez Lozano (Begur, SPAIN) – all prevailed at singles and doubles to lead the Bulldogs to the victory.
The tandem of Howeler and Granstam improved to 5-1 at doubles play this year thanks to its victory over the Marauders' Noelle Htwar (Sykesville, Md.) and Hui Jen Soo (Miri, MALAYSIA) by a score of 6-1.
Barton takes on Lake Superior State on Thursday on its last day of the Spring Fest while Millersville faces Fairmont State on Thursday as well at the fest.
