HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Barton women's tennis team (4-6) won its third straight victory after prevailing over Lake Superior State (1-7) by a 4-3 score Thursday on the Bulldogs' final day of their annual Spring Break trip to coastal South Carolina.
Barton swept the doubles competition to take the point while freshman
Irma Granstam (Linkoping, SWEDEN) earned wins at fifth singles and first doubles to lead Barton to the win.
Granstam has won three straight matches in singles competition and has teamed with sophomore
Tilde Howeler (Stockholm, SWEDEN) to push their winning streak at No. 1 doubles to three as well.
Barton has quick turnaround and will take on West Virginia Wesleyan at home on Friday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m., while Lake Superior State wraps up its Spring Break Fest with a meeting against Lewis at 8:30 a.m.
