HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Barton baseball team (2-2) made it two victories in a row with a 4-1 triumph over Coker (0-5) Wednesday afternoon at Tom J. New Field and Schmotzer Stadium.

Tanner Halvorson (Eau Claire, Wisc.) went four-for-four with three runs batted in while sophomore
Tyler Blackburn (Fayetteville, N.C.) (1-0) earned the win after limiting the Cobras to just one run over four innings of work.
Blackburn struck out four batters while sophomore
Andrew Simone (Vineland, N.J.) pitched five scoreless innings for his first save of the season. Simone also struck out four batters.
Halvorson's RBI single opened the scoring in the third frame while his run-scoring double in the fifth frame broke a one-all tie and proved to be the game-winner.
For Coker, Kody Hanna (Hemingway, S.C.) drove in a run while Collin Breland (Barnwell, S.C.) (0-1) was tagged with the loss.
Barton returns home to host East Stroudsburg in a doubleheader on Saturday at Nixon Field beginning at 11:00 a.m., while Coker travels to Central, S.C., to take on Southern Wesleyan in a doubleheader on Friday starting at 2:00 p.m.
