DUE WEST, S.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (1-8, 1-1) picked up its first victory of the year with an 85-72 triumph over Erskine (2-6, 1-2) Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at Belk Arena and Red Myers Court.

Lauren Walker (Charlotte, N.C.) led all scorers with 26 points and went eight-for-eight from the charity stripe while senior guard
Cierra Revelle (Sanford, N.C.) added 14 points and hit four three-pointers in the triumph. The duo were two of four players to cross double figures for the Bulldogs in the victory as well.
Erskine's Alexis Burce (Lula, Ga.) paced the home team with 17 points but the Flying Fleet connected on just five-of-22 attempts (23 percent) from three-point land and turned the ball over 23 times in the setback.
Barton held a 57-53 edge late in the third period but before putting together a 19-1 run to break the contest open capped off by a trey from senior guard

Sutton finished with 11 points and dished out seven assists for the Bulldogs, who held a 44-34 edge on the boards.
Barton remains on the road to take on UVA Wise on Monday at 2:00 p.m., in Wise, Va., while Erskine travels to Augusta, Ga., to play Augusta on Saturday, December 30, at 1:30 p.m.
