MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (1-3) rallied from a double-digit, second-half deficit to beat Georgia Southwestern (2-1), 87-81, for its first win of the year Friday evening on the first day of the Pickle Classic at Kornegay Arena on the campus of the University of Mount Olive.

Trevon Spencer (Columbia, N.C.) finished with a career-high 29 points to go along with 11 rebounds and five three-pointers as the Bulldogs erased a 60-50 deficit with just under 12 minutes left for the victory.

Reese McDonald (Raleigh, N.C.) added 18 points, eight assists and six rebounds in the win.
Georgia Southwestern was led by Jordan Johnson (Bowie, Md.) and Jalen Johnson (Durham, N.C.) with 25 and 20 points, respectively, in the setback. Both players came off the bench.
Barton also hit 11 treys on the night including four from senior guard
Jett Fortuny (Cary, N.C.). Fortuny finished with 12 points for the Bulldogs, who held a 35-29 advantage on the boards in the victory.
On the second and final day of the classic on Saturday, Barton takes on Elizabeth City State at 5:00 p.m., while Georgia Southwestern State faces the host school, Mount Olive, at 7:00 p.m.
