Barton’s Jordan Terrell named the South Atlantic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Barton College's Jordan Terrell named the South Atlantic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week, league officials announced earlier today.

Terrell, a junior running back from Ramseur, N.C., rushed for a school and league single-game record of 403 yards and four touchdowns in the Bulldogs' 48-14 win over Erskine this past Saturday in the regular season finale in Greenwood, S.C.

Terrell was just 22 yards away from tying the NCAA Division II all-time single-game rushing record – 425 yards by Connor Silveria of South Dakota School of Mines vs. Adams State in 2018 – and now ranks second in the nation in rushing yards (1,732) and rushing yards per game (157.5 ypg).  Terrell also finished the year with 11 rushing touchdowns.

Terrell, who has a school-record record 5,487 yards on the ground and 44 rushing touchdowns in his collegiate career, earned league offensive player-of-the-week accolades for the second time this season and the fourth time in two years.  Terrell's rushing mark was the fifth-highest all-time in NCAA history over all divisions.

Terrell is a two-time All-Super Region II honoree (2022-23) and an All-South Atlantic Conference First-Team pick last fall.  In addition, Terrell was a 2022 honorable mention All-American by Don Hansen's.

Wingate's Marquise Fleming and Catawba's Bryson Sims were named the South Atlantic Conference's Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.

Barton (6-5, 4-5) finished the year with its second winning campaign over the last three seasons.
