WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (5-14, 5-7) took down Erskine (5-12, 3-10), 67-49, Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.

Lauren Mingo (Clinton, Md.) led the way with a team-high 21 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double to go along with six assists in the win.
The Bulldogs outscored the Flying Fleet by a 20-11 margin in the fourth and final stanza as the home team forced Erskine into 24 turnovers and held the visitors to just 18-of-50 (36 percent) shooting from the floor in the victory.
Erskine was led by Anzya Cook (Simpsonville, S.C.) with a game-high 24 points in addition to five treys but was the lone player to score in double figures for the Flying Fleet.
Barton also came up big from the charity stripe – connecting on 14-of-17 free throws – and held a 43-32 edge on the boards. Junior guard
Lauren Walker (Charlotte, N.C.) added 11 points for the Bulldogs in the win.
Barton hits the road to take on rival Mount Olive on Wednesday beginning at 5:00 p.m., in Mount Olive, N.C., in conference action while Erskine hosts Belmont Abbey Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
