WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (9-5, 7-0) kept its Conference Carolinas record unblemished with an 81-78 victory over rival Mount Olive (4-11, 2-5) Wednesday evening at Wilson Gymnasium.

Donaven Hairston (Atlanta, Ga.) both scored 21 points each as the Bulldogs remained the lone unbeaten team in conference play.
Mount Olive lost despite the play of senior Michael Brown (Winchester, Va.), who poured in a game-high 36 points to go along with seven treys and six assists.
Barton, which notched its third straight victory, won over Mount Olive in a contest which featured six ties and nine lead changes. Junior guard
Reese McDonald (Raleigh, N.C.) added 19 points for the Bulldogs, who improved to 7-1 at home.
Trailing by a 72-69 score with just under seven minutes left, McDonald reeled off five straight points including the game-winning trey in the victory for Barton. The Bulldogs also connected on 16-of-19 from the charity stripe and blocked 11 shots in the win.
Barton remains at home to take on Belmont Abbey in another league showdown on Saturday afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m., while Mount Olive plays Emmanuel on Saturday at 4:00 p.m., as well in Franklin Springs, Ga.
